The aim of the Conference during the NATO EOD Demonstrations and Trials 2023 is to give a deep insight into the modern technologies that could improve EOD, IEDD and combat sappers’ tasks execution in permissive and non-permissive environments. That could comprise any ongoing mission and undertaking led by the military, NGOs and domestic institutions to mitigate the threat emanating from terrorism, local armed conflicts and crisis situations.

The NATO EOD COE invites potential speakers to contact block leaders and provide them with necessary information i.e.:

1. topic of the presentation;
2. abstract of the presentation;
3. required time for a brief.

Block I - "Cutting-Edge Technology for EOD Activities"

is intended to focus on disruptive technologies in the field of EOD/C-IED:

• virtual and extended reality;
• enhanced information flow;
• Artificial Intelligence;
• advanced standoff detection;
• UAS, ROVs;
• other EOD/C-IED related.

Block II - "Explosive Ordnance Threat Mitigation in a Hostile Environment"

with its main focus on:

• NATO/GO/NGO perspective on EO incident sequence of events;
• TTPs practiced during the specific EO incident response,
• final result of the device/EO disposal;
• implementation of the observations and best practices as lessons learned in the EOD area.
