Arnold Schoolderman is a senior project and programme manager in the group ‘Electronic Defence’, of TNO, the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research. Arnold has been the manager of several 4-year research programs on landmines, mobility and countermobility, and countering improvised explosive devices, that were conducted by order of the Netherlands MoD.
Currently he is program manager of the 4-year program ‘Countering the current and future IED threat’, that started in January 2021. As part of these programs he initiated and chaired/co-chaired several Task Groups on C-IED technologies under the NATO Science and Technology Organisation, for which he received a SCI-Panel Excellence Award and a STO Scientific Achievement Award. Under the NATO MILENG WG he initiated and co-chaired a Team of Experts on Technologies for Military Search. He is involved in the NATO Science for Peace and Security Program as NATO Project Director of projects on demining and explosive hazards clearance with Egypt, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
